Registration and Appointments
To become a donor you must check that you fulfil our eligibility criteria. The registration process must be completed either online, or we will be happy register you by telephone if you prefer – call us on 0207 870 3742.
Once registered, donors can make appointments online, or by phone. Appointments are generally available from 7.30 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The donation process
The whole process should take less than 1 hour to complete.
At every appointment we will collect information including proof of identity and GP details. You will need to supply photo ID and sign consent forms. We will then run some tests to make sure you meet our eligibility requirements, which will take place in a private consultation room. Due to the nature of some of the questions we may ask and to ensure donor confidentiality, we do not allow others in for this part of the consultation If you pass these we will then take your blood donation.
When the donation has taken place you will be reimbursed directly by us into your bank account. If you have opted to waive your fee to support a charity we will make this payment directly to them instead.
Not providing the required information, not giving consent, or failing any of the eligibility tests will mean that the donation cannot take place, and we will not reimburse donors in these circumstances.
Your personal details will remain confidential at all times and we take your data security very seriously. We comply with all current rules governing data protection. No personally-identifiable information will ever be sent with the samples we produce for researchers.
